According to Ayilara, the accused, nabbed on Wednesday, admitted to the heinous crime, revealing that his motive stemmed from his father’s alleged sale of all the parcels of land, including the one designated for Edet’s residence.

“The late father had sold all the parcels of land he had, including the one that he gave to him to build his house as the reason for his action,” stated the police commissioner, echoing Edet’s confession.

Assuring swift legal action, Ayilara affirmed that upon the conclusion of investigations, all suspects would be promptly arraigned in court to face the full extent of justice.
