Dawakin-Tofa serves as the head of Media and Publicity at the Kano Government House, and the news of his son’s death has plunged both his family and the Kano State government into mourning. Sadiq, described as a bright and promising young man, died on Thursday morning after facing significant health challenges due to sickle cell anemia since birth.

In a heartfelt message on social media, Dawakin-Tofa shared the tragic news, confirming that his son succumbed to complications related to the surgery. Sadiq is set to be buried according to Islamic rites in Dawakin Tofa this coming weekend.

In his post, Dawakin-Tofa expressed his grief: “This morning, I lost my first child, Sadiq (Modibbo) Bature at the age of 15. He was a good, brilliant, and obedient child. He underwent a successful bone marrow transplant this month in India, but unfortunately, he passed away due to post-surgery complications in his brain.”

The family is awaiting the return of Sadiq’s body for burial, with details to be announced upon its arrival. The tragic passing of young Sadiq has drawn condolences from friends, as well as political and professional associates of Dawakin-Tofa, all offering prayers for the deceased’s soul.
