Soneye Bows Out Of NNPCL – The Real Reason Behind His Sudden Exit

In a statement issued on Saturday and shared with DAILY POST, Soneye revealed that he has stepped down from his position as Chief Corporate Communications Officer of the national oil company.
He explained that his decision was driven by the need to devote more time to his family and attend to pressing personal responsibilities.
Soneye, who was appointed in August 2021, expressed his appreciation to colleagues for their support during his tenure and reflected on the journey with gratitude.
His full statement reads:
“Dear Esteemed Colleagues,
I extend my heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support, professionalism, and genuine commitment in helping to shape and amplify the NNPC Ltd story over the past 20 months. Your efforts in building a vibrant and effective communications presence for our national energy company have been truly invaluable.I wish to inform you that I have stepped aside from my role as Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd.
This decision enables me to dedicate more time to my family and attend to personal matters that now require my closer attention.
Serving NNPC Ltd and contributing to its ongoing transformation has been a profound honour. I am sincerely thankful for the trust placed in me, the opportunities I was given, and the incredible professionals—within and outside the organization—I had the pleasure of working with.
I will continue to be a strong supporter and ambassador of NNPC Ltd wherever I go. I encourage you all to maintain your robust, balanced, and constructive reportage in support of the company’s strategic role in Nigeria’s energy future.”
