Following a goalless draw during regular time in Abidjan, captain and goalkeeper Ronwen Williams once again played a pivotal role, making crucial saves during the penalty shootout to guide Bafana Bafana to a 6-5 victory over the Leopards of the DRC.

Williams showcased his heroics by denying penalty attempts from Chancel Mbemba and Meschack Elia, while Siyanda Xulu’s successful conversion ultimately secured South Africa’s bronze medal triumph.
