Sowunmi Offers Fresh Insight Into His Respect For Kwankwaso Ahead Of 2027A prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Segun Sowunmi, has expressed his disagreement with the political strategies employed by the Kwankwasiyya movement but clarified that he still holds a different kind of respect for its leader, Rabiu Kwankwaso.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In an interview with Channels Television on Sunday, Sowunmi criticized the movement for what he described as “excessive militancy” and for encouraging aggressive behavior among its supporters. He stated, “I have a different view of my respect for Rabiu Kwankwaso, but that excessive militancy is crazy. Democracy should be an ideological conversation, not about instigating young people to act as if they are ready for a mob fight.”

Sowunmi made these remarks in response to a question about whether Kwankwaso, Atiku Abubakar, or any other political figures were funding his alternative political movement. He categorically denied any external sponsorship, revealing that he is personally funding the initiative and hopes that, in the future, members of the movement will contribute financially.

In a separate development, the Labour Party has announced plans to take legal action to reclaim the seats of four lawmakers who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The party criticized the lawmakers for retaining their parliamentary positions after switching allegiance to the ruling party.

Obiora Ifoh, the Labour Party’s National Publicity Secretary, confirmed the move in an interview with The PUNCH, following the reading of the lawmakers’ resignation letters by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, on Thursday.
