Makinde explained that his endorsement would be aimed at ensuring the continuation of the state’s progress and development.
“In the midst of all these advancements, many people have been asking—two years remain, what next? How can we be sure the next leader won’t dismantle the foundation our administration has built?
“The reality is that the future of Oyo State lies in the hands of its people. Just as you entrusted me with the opportunity to serve, you will also determine who leads next.
“As I mentioned during the 11th Omituntun Ramadan Lecture recently, I will disclose my preferred candidate for the 2027 governorship election at some point in 2026.
“It will then be up to you, the people of Oyo State, to decide whether you want continuity,” Makinde stated.
