Nigerian singer Speed Darlington has challenged Grammy-winning artiste Burna Boy to a boxing match, confidently declaring that he would defeat the singer in the ring.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Speed Darlington made the challenge during a recent interview with Hip TV, where he called on Burna Boy to accept a physical showdown and pledged to put up a substantial amount of money for the proposed bout.

The ‘Akpi’ crooner also expressed strong confidence in his physical abilities, insisting that Burna Boy would not be able to overcome him in a boxing contest.

“I challenge Burna Boy to fight me. I will drop a huge sum just to fight him. I want to fight him. I will beat him. He’s all hype. He can’t beat me. Just because some people like his music doesn’t mean he can beat me. I am challenging him,” Speed Darlington said.

The latest challenge comes months after Speed Darlington was involved in another controversial boxing encounter with fellow Nigerian singer Portable.

In April, Portable claimed that Burna Boy rewarded him with ₦20 million after he defeated Speed Darlington in a boxing match. Portable alleged that Burna Boy gave him the money because of the victory, amid Speed Darlington’s repeated criticism of the Grammy-winning artiste.

Speed Darlington had previously made several controversial comments about Burna Boy, including remarks concerning the singer’s relationship with American rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs and questions surrounding Burna Boy’s Grammy recognition.

With Speed Darlington now openly challenging Burna Boy to a boxing match, the latest development has sparked fresh interest among fans, particularly given the history of tension and public exchanges between the two artistes.
