The Commissioner of Education, Yusuf Sulaiman Jibia, confirmed that the measure was necessary to protect students and staff as authorities implement enhanced safety strategies for schools. Jibia emphasized that the temporary shutdown comes despite ongoing examinations, stressing that safeguarding lives and property takes precedence over academic activities. He further noted that the closure will remain in effect until a comprehensive security review is conducted in high-risk areas.
