A Nation Divided? Presidency Breaks Silence On Sh*cking 31 New States Proposal

Speaking in an interview with Trust TV, Yusuf accused governors of shielding President Bola Tinubu from the harsh reality of hunger ravaging Nigerians.

According to him, the removal of fuel subsidy has given governors access to far more funds, yet little to no impact is felt at the grassroots. Instead, he said, they divert resources and “run around the world building bridges and houses,” while citizens continue to suffer.

He declared:

“Mr President, if they are not telling you the truth, listen to me: there is hunger in the land. Your government is doing nothing to tackle this tragedy in a country of plenty. They claim N419 billion was spent on cash transfers—who received it?”

Yusuf further insisted that governors, not the Presidency, are the real stumbling blocks to development, pointing out that they have suffocated local governments that should be driving employment, education, and healthcare delivery.

He said that even during Buhari’s era, he consistently maintained that governors across all geopolitical zones account for the bulk of Nigeria’s challenges.

“Where is all the money going? There is no meaningful development. Even with Tinubu’s efforts to free local governments from their grip, governors still hold tight to the funds—and ordinary Nigerians remain hungry,” he lamented.
