Ejikeme Mmesoma, a student of Anglican Girls Secondary School in Nnewi, Anambra State, who has been accused of forging her Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result, has finally spoken out about the allegations.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, Mmesoma expressed her surprise and disbelief that the result she printed out from the JAMB portal could be labeled as fake by the examination body.
The student repeatedly emphasized that she is not capable of such an act and revealed that she is deeply traumatized by the accusation.
She stated, “I am the owner of this result. I went to the JAMB portal to print this result, and this is what they gave me. This is my aggregate, 362. This is exactly how I downloaded it from that site. So, them saying I forged my result is something I don’t understand, and I’m traumatized that they accused me of forging my own result.”
Mmesoma presented evidence to support her claim, explaining that when the QR code on the result was scanned, it displayed a different name, Omotola Afolabi, with a score of 138. Furthermore, she mentioned that the same person’s score was later checked again and it showed a score of 238, indicating a discrepancy.
She informed that she had shown the result and the SMS they sent to her to the Commissioner of Education, who took a snapshot and forwarded it to JAMB officials. However, instead of waiting for the investigation to conclude, JAMB accused her of forgery without proper confirmation.
Mmesoma revealed that the matter was reported to the Department of State Services (DSS), and they took her and her statement. The DSS assured her that they would conduct further investigations to determine the origin of the result.
Expressing her sadness and frustration, she emphasized her academic excellence since her primary school days and stated that she would never forge results to impress anyone.
In her heartfelt plea, Mmesoma called for fairness and proper investigation to unveil the truth behind the alleged forgery, expressing her profound sadness about the entire situation.
