A 100-level Biology student from Federal University Lokoja (FUL), Kogi State, has admitted to killing a female colleague he had kidnapped. The student, identified as Jeremiah, was apprehended by Kogi State police and led them to the location in a bush where he had buried Deborah, his victim.
Jeremiah, originally from Kaduna State, revealed that he had abducted Damilola and taken her to an incomplete building in a remote, overgrown area. He demanded a ransom of N400,000 from her family, which they paid. Despite receiving the money, he proceeded to end her life.
In a video released by the police, it was reported that Damilola’s genitalia had been mutilated, though Jeremiah denied any involvement in such acts. He explained that he killed her after collecting the ransom because she had seen his face and he feared she would escape and identify him.
