Idris Mohammed, Special Assistant to the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Rabiu Ibrahim, confirmed the development in a statement.

He revealed that 20 patients have been admitted to Gwagwalada Specialist Hospital in Abuja, with two additional patients transferred to the Federal Medical Centre, Jabi, Abuja.

The statement further noted that the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation will closely monitor the situation and provide timely updates to Nigerians.

“In line with President Bola Tinubu’s directive for the swift transfer of victims of the Suleja fuel tanker explosion to tertiary medical centres for improved care, 20 patients have been admitted to Gwagwalada Specialist Hospital in Abuja.

“Additionally, two more patients have been moved to the Federal Medical Centre, Jabi, Abuja.

“All patients were accompanied by a nurse and family members to ensure smooth medical treatment.

“The Niger State Government has expressed its gratitude to the Federal Government for its prompt and effective response to this tragic incident.

“The Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation will continue to closely monitor the situation and provide timely updates to Nigerians,” the statement emphasized.

Recall that President Tinubu had, on Sunday, voiced concern over the tanker fire incident and directed the relocation of victims to tertiary healthcare facilities for enhanced welfare.
