Speaking during his Sallah visit to Governor Ahmed Aliyu at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Lodges in Sokoto, the Sultan emphasized that Sokoto State embraces every Nigerian as a local resident, fostering a sense of belonging among its inhabitants.

He called on other states to adopt this inclusive approach to promote lasting peace, harmony, and unity among all Nigerians, stating, “In Sokoto, we don’t have non-indigenes, but rather members of the resident communities.”

The Sultan also highlighted the importance of safeguarding lives and property, describing security as the foundation for societal progress. He commended Governor Aliyu and the security agencies for their efforts in combating banditry, noting significant improvements in the state.

In response, Governor Aliyu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to security and economic empowerment, attributing rising insecurity to youth unemployment. He outlined plans for further skill acquisition programs to engage more young people and reduce restiveness.

He also pledged to continue prioritizing Islamic affairs, including the development of more Mosques and Islamiyya schools, and thanked citizens for their ongoing prayers and support.
