Speaking at the North-West Peace and Security Summit in Katsina State, he highlighted the severe impact of banditry and insurgency on local communities, stressing that overcoming these issues in the North-West could take decades. The President General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs emphasized the urgent need to confront these threats, acknowledging their profound consequences.

He also expressed readiness of traditional leaders to collaborate with security agencies and governors of North West states to combat banditry and insurgency effectively.

Abubakar voiced confidence that actionable strategies to minimize these threats and restore normalcy would emerge from the summit deliberations.
