The viral video showed Speaker Egbedun confronting police officers who were reportedly involved in extorting money from individuals on the road. Reportedly, Speaker Egbedun personally collected the money back from the officers and encouraged the youths present to record the incident on video.

In a Twitter statement posted on Friday, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi disclosed that the concerned police officers have been apprehended, and appropriate measures will be taken. He emphasized that the Police maintain a strong stance against any form of extortion and corruption.

Adejobi’s tweet read: “The Commissioner of Police for Osun State, CP Kehinde Longe, has taken action regarding this incident. The officers involved have been arrested, and necessary steps will be carried out.

The Public Relations Officer of Osun State Police Command has been instructed to provide updates on the actions taken. Our commitment to eradicating extortion and corruption remains unwavering.”
