Sunday Igboho Sends Strong Message to Security Operatives Over Yoruba Bandit Collaborators

The founder of the Iru Ekun Security Network, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has issued a stern warning against armed bandits, kidnappers and individuals allegedly collaborating with criminal elements in the Southwest.

Igboho gave the warning while addressing members of the security network during its inauguration in Akure, Ondo State, where he urged operatives to take decisive action against armed criminals encountered during their operations.

According to the Yoruba Nation activist, the directive should apply to suspected kidnappers regardless of their ethnic background. He stated that individuals found working with bandits should also face severe consequences.

Igboho said, “If you are in the bush or anywhere and you meet any bandit with guns, kill him, and if you see any Yoruba person collaborating with these bandits, the person too.

“If you see any Igbo person involved in kidnapping, kill him too. If you meet any Hausa person with guns involved in kidnapping, kill him because we can’t be wasting time.”

However, Igboho cautioned members of the security network against targeting innocent residents on the basis of their ethnicity. He stressed that the group’s activities should focus on suspected criminals rather than law-abiding Hausa or Igbo residents living in the region.

He also advised operatives to notify the police and other relevant security agencies whenever they identify suspected banditry or kidnapping activities.

The development comes amid increased efforts by the Iru Ekun Security Network to address kidnapping, banditry and other criminal activities across parts of the Southwest.

Igboho has recently been promoting the activities of the security outfit in the region, with its members expected to work alongside existing security agencies in tackling insecurity.
