Suswam Faces Backlash For Criticizing Tinubu’s Government: Accused Of Frustration....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The Tiv Youth Council Worldwide (TYCW) has strongly criticized former Benue State governor, Sen. Gabriel Suswam, for his ongoing condemnation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government. The group asserts that Suswam’s reproaches lack merit and are driven by his own political setbacks, rather than genuine concerns for governance.

In a recent statement, TYCW rebuked Suswam’s right to critique the current administration, highlighting his perceived frustration stemming from recent political struggles. This comes in response to Suswam’s comments on April 29, 2024, where he criticized President Tinubu’s administration for its perceived inability to ameliorate Nigeria’s economic conditions.

Suswam’s critique, aired during a Channels Television program, accused the Buhari administration of derailing progress initiated by the PDP and highlighted what he viewed as detrimental economic policies under President Tinubu. However, TYCW, represented by its President, Chief Michael Msuaan, MON, contends that Suswam’s criticism lacks credibility, citing his own underwhelming performance as governor of Benue State.

TYCW argues that Suswam’s tenure did not yield significant development in Benue State, suggesting that his current frustration stems from his loss of political influence, including the loss of his senatorial seat and subsequent legal defeats. Suswam’s aspirations for national party leadership are interpreted by the group as self-serving rather than altruistic.

The group advises Suswam to redirect his grievances towards internal party matters, particularly the lack of confidence in him by members of the PDP’s National Executive Committee, rather than targeting President Tinubu’s administration.
