Take A Break And Restructure: Tacha Gives BBNaija Organisers Fresh Advice
Reality TV star Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has advised the organisers of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) to consider taking a break from the show and developing fresh ideas to maintain viewers’ interest.
According to Bush Radio Academy, Tacha made the recommendation during an interview on Arise 360, where she discussed the changing entertainment landscape and the growing influence of social media on how Nigerians consume content.
The former BBNaija housemate argued that the reality show needs a new strategy to remain competitive, noting that social media platforms have become major sources of entertainment and public engagement.
Tacha explained that BBNaija gained widespread popularity at a time when social media did not wield the level of influence it does today. She suggested that the organisers should recognise these changes and rethink their approach to attracting and retaining audiences.
According to the reality TV star, taking a temporary break could give viewers an opportunity to miss the programme while allowing its organisers to develop a more innovative and engaging format.
She also pointed to the abundance of trending conversations and entertainment available online, arguing that audiences now have numerous alternatives to traditional television programming.
Tacha stressed that the show’s organisers should focus on creating something different, exciting and capable of capturing the attention of Nigerian viewers, whom she described as increasingly difficult to satisfy.
Her comments have reignited conversations about the future of BBNaija, one of Nigeria’s most recognisable reality television programmes, as entertainment consumption continues to shift towards digital platforms.
Although the show has maintained a strong following over the years, Tacha’s remarks suggest that evolving audience preferences may require a significant rethink of its format and presentation.
She maintained that a strategic pause could provide an opportunity for the organisers to reassess the programme, introduce fresh concepts and return with a more compelling experience for viewers.
