Veteran Nollywood actress Hilda Dokubo has firmly refuted the rumors of her death circulating online amidst the ongoing political tensions in Rivers State.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The rumors began on Facebook after claims surfaced that Dokubo had been hired by the suspended Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara, to organize and chair a rally aimed at pressuring President Bola Tinubu and Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, on March 25, 2025. Following the event, it was further alleged that people were parading her pictures while singing funeral songs.
In a response during an Instagram Live session on Friday, Dokubo assured her followers that she is in good health and vowed to continue speaking out on political and governance issues.
She emphasized that money holds no interest for her, highlighting that both Fubara and others are well aware that she cannot be bribed.
“I am healthy, strong, and very much alive,” Dokubo stated. “I’ve been through countless rumors about my death. It’s not a big deal anymore. But I understand the concern, especially for my elderly mother. People even visited her thinking I was gone.”
She continued, “I’m fearless and always speak my truth. I’ve been raised well by my parents, and money is the least of my concerns. Everyone, including Fubara, knows I can’t be bought. If I were, I wouldn’t be where I am or standing for what’s right.”
Addressing the rally allegations, she clarified, “I have no interest in organizing rallies to support any individual. If you know me, you know I love to dance, and I’m more likely to be on stage giving a speech than organizing any political action.”
Dokubo also strongly dismissed any claims of wishing harm on others, stating, “I do not believe in politics with bitterness, and I would never wish anyone dead, not even in my lowest moments.”
