In a statement issued on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Monday Uzor, the governor described the rumours as baseless and the work of individuals attempting to create division.

He stressed that he maintains a cordial working relationship with Umahi, adding that both are committed to strengthening the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State.

Nwifuru reaffirmed that the APC remains united as a family, noting that all aspirants for various political offices would be treated fairly in line with party agreements.

He also assured that any issues surrounding consensus arrangements would be resolved amicably, adding that meetings with aspirants would be held at the appropriate time.

The governor further urged party members, stakeholders, and aspirants to remain united and make necessary sacrifices in the interest of the party’s progress.

Meanwhile, Nwifuru also stated that the APC would not support aspirants without visible achievements in their constituencies ahead of the 2027 elections, warning that the party would not repeat what he described as past mistakes.

He made the remark during the commissioning of several projects, including roads, classroom blocks, and street lighting, carried out by Senator Peter Onyekachi Nwebonyi, Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate and representative of Ebonyi North Senatorial District.

Represented at the event by the state APC Chairman, Stanley Okoro Emegha, the governor said only aspirants with verifiable records of performance in their current or previous positions would be considered for the party’s ticket in 2027.
