According to Oshiomhole, there is nothing wrong with changing currencies, but it must be done with a human face, taking into consideration the complexities of banking in present-day Nigeria.

He gave the example of his constituency, which has six LGAs but only a few banks have branches in two of the six LGA areas, causing someone wanting to withdraw N10,000 to travel all the way from Owan to Auchi to get paid and yet someone takes 20% of the little money in addition to transportation costs with a fuel crisis bearing down across the country.

Even the small amounts of money that people have in the bank are inaccessible.With so much anarchy raging throughout the federation and no fewer than three deaths being reported.

He made it clear that the CBN were not elected authorities, and that whatever burden and misery they were causing Nigerians would be returned to them in the same coin.
