The Five Rotten Fingers Of Deception: Obaseki Tops the List As Edo Governor Flees Government House—Number 5 Will Shock You!The conversations surrounding the recent gubernatorial election in Edo State are bound to persist for quite some time. During the campaigns, former Edo State Governor Comrade Adams Oshiomhole repeatedly compared the PDP and Governor Obaseki to five rotten fingers, suggesting that everything they touch is destined for destruction.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Today, I present to you the five rotten “fingers” that have dragged Edo State backward, pushing it to the brink of hatred and near hopelessness.

First on the list is Edo State Governor Obaseki, who is purportedly hiding in Venice after abandoning his state. During the campaigns, he depicted Oshiomhole as the godfather of Okpebholo, the newly elected governor, and used every opportunity to instigate people against President Bola Tinubu. Ironically, only days before the election, he began complaining about “federal might,” claiming to be the target of intimidation. Obaseki fully exemplifies hypocrisy.

“As they say, a child carried on its mother’s back will always say the journey isn’t far.”

Next on the list is Obaseki’s wife, Betsy, who is also rumored to have fled the state alongside her husband. She campaigned aggressively against Senator Monday Okpebholo and LP candidate Olumide Akpata, mocking them for not having wives—ironic, considering she herself is reportedly dealing with serious marital issues. Her actions are the height of hypocrisy. These are the ones we call “pretenders.”

As the saying goes, “If a child pretends to be dead, the best response is to pretend to bury him.”

Third on the list is Osaigbovo Iyoha, the Chief of Staff to Governor Godwin Obaseki. He is rumored to be the hatchet man who handles all the dirty work for Obaseki. According to social media influencers and various video clips, he is said to have gone into hiding, fleeing from the government house.

Iyoha has been accused of being involved in the murder of a police inspector assigned to the governor-elect, Senator Monday Okpebholo. His tenure in Edo State has reportedly ruined the region and transformed it into a Gestapo-like government.

Iyoha is said to be on the run, as my folks used to say, “Who chop bellyful must still go hungry”.

Fourth on the list is Osarodion Ogie. One has to wonder what he thinks he is entitled to at the government house. For goodness’ sake, Ogie is the Odionwere of the government house, essentially the longest-serving tenant there. Did his ancestors gift him this position? It’s difficult to even determine how many decades he has spent within those walls; it’s time for him to step aside.

The government house is not his birthright. What has he accomplished during his time in the corridors of power that qualifies him to become the next deputy governor? Just imagine if he had succeeded in holding that position for eight years—he would likely claim he deserved to run for governor for another eight years. Even Methuselah didn’t have a leadership tenure that lasted this long!

“Person wey dey ride horse of greed go reach the destination of shame.”

Finally, we have the fifth man on the list, Asue Ighodalo, who has served as the chief economic adviser to Obaseki for eight years and is the chairman of the Alaghodaro summit. He is the “Oga Kpatakpata of deception,” unable to advise the governor on crucial issues like good roads, quality healthcare, education, sanitation, and infrastructure. What value does he bring? He speaks Queen’s English, yet Edo is far from being a “Little London.” He relies on an interpreter to communicate with his people, all while claiming to love them. Among the five fingers of deception, his position is firmly in the middle finger—truly misleading.

As the saying goes, “An old man who wakes up early to work was once a young man who slept a lot.” Ighodalo, we don’t need leaders in Edo State who are simply a product of their ancestors with nothing to show for it except meaningless memoranda of understanding.
