Oyedepo, also the founder of Living Faith Churches Worldwide, advised Nigerian universities to focus on conducting more research to tackle societal challenges. He stressed the importance of universities engaging in productive research that can lead to food security, improved healthcare, advancements in agriculture, and accessible shelter for all citizens.
He stated, “I have discovered that every problem has a solution, but without someone to solve it, these problems become insurmountable. As long as we adhere to rigid thinking, we will continue to lag behind.”
The Chancellor characterized universities as institutions where solutions to society’s problems are discovered and where value is added to humanity. He highlighted various societal issues, including food security, agriculture, healthcare, housing, child delivery, and care.
“Human beings are the most intelligent beings in God’s creation, yet our society has not found solutions to its problems because it is unwilling to take on responsibility,” Oyedepo concluded.
