Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, previously announced that Tinubu would be using this time for a working vacation and a retreat to reflect on his administration’s economic reforms.
While Onanuga stated that the president would return after his leave, questions have arisen in political circles regarding his absence beyond the scheduled two weeks.
According to government officials cited by Punch, weekends are not counted as part of Tinubu’s leave. They indicated that the president is expected back in Nigeria around the weekend or early next week, around October 21. One official clarified, “If you calculate the two weeks from October 2, he should return on October 16. But only working days are counted, so he’s set to spend 14 working days, concluding early next week.
