Okonkwo remarked, “Peter Obi and I have different approaches and temperaments. While Obi aims to be sweet and agreeable with everyone, I believe in balancing sweetness and bitterness. I advise my younger ones to avoid being overly sweet or bitter, as extremes can lead to negative outcomes. Obi’s approach is leading to excessive flattery.”

He also discussed the need for integrating the Obidients movement into the Labour Party to strengthen it, but criticized Obi for his reluctance to do so. Okonkwo argued that forming alliances with other like-minded political parties is crucial for LP to succeed in future elections.

He said, “I would have preferred the Obidients to be integrated into the Labour Party to create a more robust organization, but Peter Obi does not support this. In 2027, facing an incumbent requires a strong, broad-based party to secure and sustain votes. APC’s successful merger with parties like ANPP, ACN, and CPC to defeat PDP serves as an example of the necessary strategy. To effectively combat rigging and secure electoral victories, building a strong political party is essential.”
