Obi made the allegation while advocating for a free, fair, and transparent electoral process in Nigeria.

Speaking in a video message to supporters, he reflected on his political journey, highlighting years of challenges, including isolation and prolonged legal battles.

“I have been in this tough political space where people deserted me during an election. I spent three years in court, and no one stood by me,” he said.

The former Anambra State governor also recounted past experiences of impeachment and political setbacks.

“I have been impeached, returned home where I felt abandoned, and removed from office twice,” he added.

According to Obi, these experiences have built his resilience, noting that the current political situation is not unfamiliar to him.

“There is nothing new I am seeing now. Everything being said or done is something I have faced before,” he stated.

He went further to allege that there are deliberate moves by the Federal Government to frustrate his ambition ahead of the 2027 polls.

“The Federal Government does not want me to contest in 2027. We are not asking for too much. They already have the governors and ministers; all we want is a credible election,” Obi said.

Obi also suggested that those in power benefit from extensive political connections, giving them an edge.

“They have all the networks. They know the influential figures — the kings and queens — while we do not. They control everything,” he added.

Reaffirming his position, Obi stressed the importance of creating a level playing field, insisting that Nigeria must prioritize fairness, transparency, and equal opportunity in its electoral process.
