They’ll Return With Regret!” – Ogidi Predicts PDP Governors Who Joined APC Will Crawl Back

The National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the South-South region, Emmanuel Ogidi, has expressed confidence that governors and other influential members who recently defected from the party will eventually return.

Speaking on Arise Television on Wednesday, Ogidi maintained that the PDP remains a strong, organized, and resilient political force capable of resolving its internal challenges despite the ongoing defections.

He dismissed rumours of attempts to destabilize the party’s forthcoming national convention, stressing that the PDP’s structures remain solid and in full control of the process.

“There was a group that met in Abuja and made certain demands, threatening to disrupt the convention, but PDP is an organized party, for God’s sake. You can’t just wake up and call yourself stakeholders,” Ogidi stated.

He noted that the National Working Committee (NWC) and the National Executive Committee (NEC) were firmly overseeing preparations for the convention, which is scheduled to hold in November.

Ogidi also accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of “weaponizing hunger” to manipulate some individuals into abandoning the PDP.

“We all know why they are leaving, but I’m confident they’ll return,” he said, expressing faith that the defectors would soon retrace their steps.

The PDP chieftain further attributed some of the unrest within the party to impatience among certain governors and senators over the timing of the convention.

“Some of them are just impatient. The convention is only a few weeks away. Why assume it won’t hold? Yes, we are in court, but that’s no cause for panic. If you’ve done the right thing, justice will prevail,” he said.

Ogidi assured party members that due process was being strictly followed and reaffirmed that the PDP’s national convention would go ahead as planned.
