They’ve Seized Power From The Governor’ – Insider Explains Why Fubara Skipped Rivers LG Elections
A source has revealed why suspended Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara was noticeably absent during the Local Government elections conducted by the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
According to The Daily Post, several of Fubara’s key allies—including Chief of Staff Edison Ehie, Secretary to the Government Tammy Danagogo, and other loyalists—also skipped their respective polling units. Similarly, the 23 former local government chairmen removed by the Supreme Court were absent from the polls.
One loyalist, speaking to the publication, explained that participation was unnecessary: “We knew the winners before the election even started. So why waste our time voting? Vote for who?”
The source added that the governor is currently out of the country, expected to return early next month, close to when he will resume office.
He further disclosed, “Most of today’s developments are part of the agreement between Wike and Fubara, signed in the presence of Mr. President. They have taken the power from the governor.”
The loyalist emphasized Fubara’s commitment to peace: “He believes nothing, including his position, is worth sacrificing peace. Has an elected president ever removed another elected leader before? It has never happened. We all heard Shettima say the president has no power to suspend even a local government chairman, let alone a sitting governor. Yet it has happened, and successfully. That’s the reality we live in today.”
