Thief Dies After Falling Into Well While His Gang Targets Student Dorms

According to a student named Regina, the robbery occurred around midnight when the gang attacked students, stealing laptops, phones, and money. During their escape, one of the robbers fell into the well.

“There were many of them who came around midnight. They robbed all the students in the Okuku hostel, stabbing one and injuring another with a stick before fleeing with valuables,” she reported to Vanguard.

The well, used by students for water, was uncovered and led to the discovery of Bob Jay’s body the following morning when students went to fetch water. Upon raising the alarm, community members retrieved the body and confirmed his identity, noting he was from the neighboring village of Mbube.

Regina added that the police were notified and arrived to remove the body. So far, no other members of the gang have been identified, as the phone recovered from Bob Jay was too damaged to provide clear information.
