This Broken TV Changed Everything: Nigerian Man Reveals Sh*cking Family Transformation

A Nigerian man, Chibuzor Onwurah, has shared that the best decision he and his wife ever made was living as a TV-free family.

The father of two revealed on Monday, October 6, that their television broke down last December, and they chose not to replace it for six months.

According to Onwurah, the move has significantly strengthened their family bonds, with more time spent talking, laughing, and enjoying activities together. Their children now play, read, and socialize more, while the family engages in cooking, games, and quality time.

He wrote: “Our TV broke in December, and it changed our family. We decided not to replace it for six months. Best decision ever. Without a TV, the kids read more, play together, and spend evenings outside with friends. As a family, we talk more, laugh more, cook together, play games, and actually hang out.”

He added, “On Saturday, we hosted our own family sip & paint with homemade meat pies, chicken wings, and puff puff. The whole day was filled with laughter and connection instead of everyone being glued to screens. It’s now been 10 months, and we’ll likely end the year without a TV. Screen time is way down, family time is way up. Best family experiment ever.”
