A somber atmosphere has enveloped a village in Nyamira County, Kenya, following the tragic murder of a woman and her two daughters. The victims, identified as Jane, Edinah, and Lonah, were found dumped in separate ditches in the Motagara and Gesima areas on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, after having left their home to visit a relative.

According to NTV, a local administrator confirmed that the women were killed elsewhere before their bodies were disposed of. “The women were not killed here; only their bodies were brought back. They had gone to visit their sister when the tragic events unfolded,” a local investigator stated.

Footage shared from the scene captured the residents’ grief as they struggled to come to terms with the shocking loss. One villager voiced deep sorrow and lamented the lack of action regarding the increasing number of violent deaths in the area. He urged the government to take action, highlighting the inaction of local authorities.

“Five people have died, not from illness but from murder. We plead with the government for help. People are being killed mercilessly, and although our local authorities are aware, they have never responded adequately,” he said.

Authorities have promised to conduct a thorough investigation into the incidents and ensure that those responsible are held accountable.
