Timaya disclosed that he was introduced to drugs by a group of individuals who frequented his house. During the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020, he observed some young men in his home who appeared exceptionally happy. Intrigued by their demeanor, he inquired about their source of joy, and they introduced him to ‘molly,’ a recreational drug.
Expressing the aftermath of his drug use, Timaya revealed, “Breaking off from drugs was hell; it was a tough fight.” He admitted to losing a significant amount of money and contractual agreements due to his involvement with drugs.
Opening up about the impact on his well-being, Timaya admitted, “I lost a lot of weight. I was not eating; I was just happy.” He emphasized the danger of relying on substances for happiness, describing it as an illusion that replaces natural joy.
Detailing the extent of his drug use, Timaya confessed to taking three pills of Molly daily, equating it to a form of medication. The consequences were severe, leading to financial losses, contract terminations, and strained business relationships.
In his quest for self-improvement, Timaya created the song “Cold Outside” to convey his harrowing experience. He stressed the importance of paying attention to the song’s video, where he aimed to communicate the challenges he faced during that period.
Reflecting on the severity of his ordeal, Timaya solemnly declared, “I almost died from that experience,” highlighting the gravity of his struggle with drug addiction.
