Tinubu Administration Initiates Distribution Of N200 Billion In Relief Grants

The rollout of the N200 billion Presidential Conditional Grant Scheme by the Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government has commenced, as confirmed by Doris Uzoka-Aniete, the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, in a recent announcement via her official social media handle.

The initiative, aimed at supporting manufacturers and businesses nationwide, involves the disbursement of three categories of funding through the Bank of Industry. Aniete revealed that an undisclosed number of eligible applicants have already begun receiving their grants following a meticulous selection process, marking the initial phase of the disbursement plan.

Furthermore, the minister disclosed that a substantial disbursement is scheduled for Friday, April 19, targeting a significant number of verified applicants. She emphasized that while disbursements are ongoing, not all applicants will receive their grants immediately, assuring that all verified individuals will eventually benefit from subsequent phases.

President Tinubu had announced the grant in 2023, underscoring its role in bolstering the manufacturing sector, enhancing its capacity for growth, and fostering job creation. Following the announcement, applicants were required to submit their National Identification Numbers (NIN) as part of the application process to mitigate the impact of recent economic reforms on businesses nationwide.
