Tinubu Holds Talks With APC Governors Amidst Federal Government Efforts To Quell Nationwide Protest

According to Daily Trust, the governors arrived at the Villa by bus and were promptly escorted to the President’s office. Among those observed were Hope Uzodimma of Imo, Uba Sani of Kaduna, and Bassey Otu of Cross River.

The meeting aims to address strategies for halting the planned protests across the country.

Meanwhile, the pan-Yoruba socio-cultural and political group, Afenifere, has attributed the planned nationwide protests to policies under President Bola Tinubu’s administration. The group’s publicity secretary, Justice Faloye, expressed support for the protests while cautioning against violence during an interview on Arise TV’s Morning Show on Thursday.

Afenifere clarified that while they will not actively participate in the protests, they fully endorse the demonstrators’ cause. The group pointed to widespread hunger and stringent economic measures as catalysts for the unrest, criticizing the Tinubu government’s handling of relief efforts as superficial.
