Known as the ‘Elegant Stallion,’ Onwenu reportedly collapsed at the event and was later pronounced dead at Reddington Hospital in Victoria Island, Lagos.

In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu expressed his sympathy to Onwenu’s family. He reflected on her significant contributions to the music industry and offered prayers for her soul.

The statement read, “President Bola Tinubu extends his deepest condolences to the family of the late Ms. Onyeka Onwenu. Ms. Onwenu was a celebrated singer, songwriter, actress, journalist, activist, and politician.”
