Tinubu Leads Power-Packed FEC Session, Installs New NASC Commissioner Amid High Stakes
President Bola Tinubu on Thursday chaired a session of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Before the meeting officially began, Tinubu administered the oath of office to Nnana Uzor Kalu, who has been appointed as the new commissioner representing the Southeast in the National Assembly Service Commission (NASC).
Following the brief swearing-in ceremony, the council observed a minute of silence in honour of the late Navy Captain Caleb Olubolade, a former minister and cabinet member who died on May 11, 2025.
Olubolade previously served in various capacities, including as Minister of Special Duties, Minister of State for the FCT, and Minister of Police Affairs during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan. He was also the military administrator of Bayelsa State under the regime of the late General Sani Abacha.
The FEC meeting was attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, Chief of Staff to the President Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation Dr. Didi Walson-Jack, along with several ministers and senior government officials.
This meeting follows the last FEC gathering held on July 17, 2025, which was convened in honour of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away on July 13, 2025, at the age of 82.
