President Bola Ahmed Tinubu expressed his condolences on Wednesday during a visit to the family of the late Rotimi Akeredolu, former Governor of Ondo State. Upon his arrival in Owo town, Tinubu was warmly received by Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and Deputy Governor Olayide Adelami.
Following the reception, President Tinubu and Governor Aiyedatiwa proceeded to the residence of the late Akeredolu, where they were welcomed by Betty Akeredolu, the widow, and the children of the former governor. Tinubu praised Akeredolu as a fearless advocate for good governance in the country.
During the visit, Tinubu extended his sympathies to the Akeredolu family and offered prayers for them to find strength in coping with the irreparable loss. Rotimi Akeredolu passed away at the age of 67 in Germany in December 2023 after battling a prolonged illness. His funeral took place on February 23 in Owo, Ondo State.
