The event was organized by Abike Dabiri, Chairman of the Nigerian Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), on the sidelines of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Tinubu emphasized that his presidential campaign was a rigorous endeavor, but his unyielding resolve ultimately led to his victory. He encouraged Nigerians in the diaspora, who he believes possess the potential to achieve similar feats.

Highlighting Nigeria’s vast potential, Tinubu stated, “Sincerely, we don’t have any reason to be poor. We are just poor in some leadership areas.

He emphasized that his campaign message had focused on addressing this issue, and he overcame numerous hurdles to secure his election victory.

Addressing Nigerians abroad, Tinubu urged them to put aside past frustrations with previous leadership and return to Nigeria to contribute their expertise, as the country offers abundant business opportunities. He emphasized the importance of a new mindset to overcome setbacks and succeed in various endeavors.

Tinubu shared his personal experience as a former member of the diaspora, affirming that he had faced similar challenges and setbacks.

He encouraged Nigerians in the United States to recognize the opportunities within their reach and adopt a proactive approach to harness them.
