President Bola Tinubu has submitted a letter to the Senate requesting the screening and confirmation of Kingsley Tochukwu Ude (SAN) as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The letter, dated Monday, was read during plenary by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who referred the nomination to the Committee of the Whole for immediate consideration and screening.

Dr. Ude, currently serving as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Enugu State, was recently elevated to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

His nomination follows the resignation of Uche Nnaji, the former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, whose departure last month created a ministerial vacancy for Enugu State in President Tinubu’s cabinet.

Nnaji, the only minister from Enugu in the federal cabinet, resigned amid controversy over alleged irregularities in his academic and NYSC credentials, reportedly obtained from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

President Tinubu’s submission comes just days after the Senate confirmed Bernard Doro as a minister following a screening session lasting less than 30 minutes. Doro, the third ministerial nominee from Plateau State under the current administration, outlined plans to build an “inclusive humanitarian ecosystem” during his screening.
