Tinubu Stepped In! Air Peace Boss Reveals How President Slashed U.S. Flight Ticket From $13,000 To $3,000

The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Air Peace Limited, Allen Onyema, has credited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s policies for enabling his airline to significantly slash the cost of flights on the Abuja–London Heathrow route.

Speaking in an interview with Arise News, Onyema revealed that Air Peace was able to cut ticket prices from around $13,000 to just $3,000, thanks to Tinubu’s economic reforms that opened new opportunities for private businesses to thrive.

He described the achievement as a milestone for Nigeria’s aviation sector, showcasing the power of effective collaboration between the government and the private sector.

“I want to commend President Tinubu for making this possible. His leadership has allowed the private sector to flourish. No nation can develop without empowering private enterprise. His intervention also compelled foreign airlines to reduce their fares drastically,” Onyema stated.

The announcement came shortly after Air Peace launched its inaugural direct flight from Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport to London Heathrow Airport.

Onyema noted that the new route has not only made air travel more affordable for Nigerians but also sparked healthy competition in the aviation industry. “Even Britons on our flights are excited — competition has finally arrived,” he added.

He further disclosed that Air Peace now operates 14 weekly flights between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, covering both the Lagos–London Gatwick and Abuja–London Heathrow routes — a first for any Nigerian airline.
