According to Ibas, the President’s action reflects a firm commitment to sustaining peace and stability not only in Rivers but across the wider Niger Delta region.
Speaking during the grand finale of the Niger Delta Development Commission’s (NDDC) 25th anniversary celebration in Port Harcourt on Saturday, Ibas noted that Tinubu’s leadership had helped restore normalcy and reinforce governance structures in the state.
“We sincerely appreciate His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu, for his consistent dedication to fostering peace and stability in Rivers State and throughout the Niger Delta,” he said.
“His intervention was timely, resolute, and highly reassuring. The President has continued to show strong political will in promoting regional progress, economic fairness, and national unity. We are truly grateful.”
Reflecting on the NDDC’s impact, Ibas described the Commission as a “symbol of regional integration and intervention,” highlighting its contributions toward infrastructure development, livelihood enhancement, and support for local aspirations.
“As the host of the Commission’s headquarters and a key stakeholder, Rivers State shares a special bond with the NDDC,” he added. “From road construction and rural education to youth empowerment, water supply, and health services, the Commission’s work has made a visible impact throughout the state.”
