Kwankwaso Risks Diminishing His Influence By Bowing To Atiku, El-Rufai – APC Fires Warning
The National Vice Chairman (South-East) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ijeoma Arodiogbu, has expressed confidence that former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, is politically astute enough not to align with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition over the ruling APC.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In an interview with Punch, Arodiogbu acknowledged Kwankwaso’s strong political influence, particularly in the North, but warned against any association with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai.
Describing the ADC coalition as a refuge for “political refugees,” Arodiogbu argued that Kwankwaso would compromise his credibility and status by joining forces with opposition figures who, according to him, no longer hold meaningful political sway.
“Kwankwaso is a significant political force in Kano and across the North. With the kind of grassroots support he commands, he’s a major asset to any political platform,” Arodiogbu stated.
“But I firmly believe he’s too wise to throw his weight behind what the ADC coalition is attempting—which, frankly, looks like nothing more than desperate photo-ops.”
He added, “If Kwankwaso submits himself to Atiku and El-Rufai, he diminishes his political relevance and becomes a follower under leaders whose influence is fading. It would be better for him to maintain his autonomy in the North than to diminish his standing by joining their ranks.”
Offering unsolicited advice, Arodiogbu concluded, “His smartest options would be to either join the ruling APC or continue leveraging his influence as a dominant northern figure.”
