Tinubu Warns Of Severe Consequences For Those Who Undermine Nigeria’s Unity
President Bola Tinubu issued a stern warning on Wednesday, emphasizing severe repercussions for individuals who challenge Nigeria’s sovereignty and security.
Highlighting the government’s progress in combating banditry and kidnapping, Tinubu credited intensified campaigns and enhanced intelligence gathering for these gains.
Addressing leaders of the Yoruba socio-political organization, Afenifere, in Abuja, Tinubu stated firmly, “Those who threaten Nigeria’s sovereignty will face consequences. They will pay a price, and we will not relent.”
Tinubu’s declaration follows a recent incident where Yoruba Nation agitators, clad in military attire and armed, attempted to raise the Yoruba Nation flag at the Oyo State Government Secretariat.
Asserting his commitment to Nigeria’s unity, Tinubu emphasized, “I am firmly dedicated to Nigeria’s unity and constitutional democracy.” He highlighted the administration’s success in degrading terrorism to a level where it no longer poses a threat to Nigeria’s sovereignty.
Regarding economic matters, Tinubu outlined plans to strengthen Nigeria’s finances and enhance citizens’ purchasing power. He emphasized the importance of securing the country economically before pursuing more ambitious objectives.
“We are committed to ensuring Nigeria’s economic survival. To achieve this, we must start by revamping economic opportunities and taking decisive steps forward,” Tinubu explained.
In his vision, education plays a crucial role, but it’s just one aspect of the multifaceted approach required for Nigeria’s advancement.
