Tinubu Watches In Triumph As Gov Umo Eno Dumps PDP For APC In Explosive Video

President Bola Tinubu was closely following developments from his Lagos residence on Friday as Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The APC confirmed Tinubu’s active interest in the political shift through a post on its official (formerly Twitter) account.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, @officialABAT observed Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State defect from the PDP to the APC in the early hours of today,” the statement read.

Naija News earlier reported that the defection took place at the Banquet Hall of the Akwa Ibom Government House in Uyo and drew the presence of top APC figures.

Among the dignitaries in attendance were Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Bassey Otu (Cross River), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Monday Okpebholo (Edo), and Mrs. Ekaete Unoma Akpabio, wife of the Senate President.

Following the move, strong indications suggest a potential mass defection of PDP stakeholders to the APC. Reports indicate that all 31 local government chairmen, numerous state assembly members, and most of the governor’s cabinet are preparing to follow suit.

Still, the political transition hasn’t gone unchallenged. Commissioner for Special Duties and Ibom Deep Sea Port, Ini Ememobong, has resigned in protest, citing deep-seated political principles and personal beliefs.
