Tinubu’s 2027 Campaign Gets Boost As Defence Minister Christopher Musa Accepts Appointment

The Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa (rtd), has accepted an appointment to serve in the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Musa was named Secretary I of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council.

In a statement issued on Monday by his Special Adviser on Media, Leah Katung-Babatunde, the minister expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu and the APC leadership for entrusting him with the responsibility.

Musa described the appointment as an opportunity to serve at a higher level, assuring the party’s leadership, stakeholders and supporters of his commitment to carrying out his duties effectively.

He pledged to approach the new assignment with diligence, discipline and focus.

The minister, however, stressed that his primary responsibility remains the protection of Nigeria’s territorial integrity and the safety of citizens and their property.

“The ongoing operations, strategic reforms, and inter-agency collaborations across the defence sector will continue unabated with increased vigour.

“Our resolve to uphold the mandate of the Ministry of Defence, protect our people, and drive Mr President’s vision for a safe and prosperous Nigeria remains firm and unshakeable,” he said.

Musa also appealed to APC members and Nigerians to remain united in support of the administration.

He expressed confidence that the ruling party would emerge victorious at the polls while continuing to strengthen governance and improve security across the country.
