Tinubu’s 2027 Victory Assured With ADA Registration – Osita Okechukwu Declares
A founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Osita Okechukwu, has asserted that the formation of the proposed All Democratic Alliance (ADA) could inadvertently bolster President Bola Tinubu’s chances of winning a second term in 2027.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The National Opposition Coalition Group recently sought the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) approval to register ADA. Reacting to this development on Sunday, Okechukwu described the move as positive, emphasizing his support for a robust multi-party democracy.
He expressed optimism that INEC would approve ADA’s registration, citing a precedent set by the Supreme Court when the APC was formed as an opposition party.
“My view is that the creation of ADA is welcome. I support a multiparty system where diverse opinions and ideologies can thrive,” Okechukwu said.
“Contrary to what the promoters of ADA might believe, their emergence could actually strengthen the APC and President Tinubu’s re-election bid. Their assumption that the northern electorate can be easily swayed or mobilized en masse for a northern candidate is misguided. The North has one of the most politically sophisticated electorates in the country.”
Okechukwu dismissed claims that the North is disillusioned with Tinubu, pointing out ongoing infrastructure projects and reforms across both northern and southern regions, as well as initiatives like the creation of regional development commissions and financial autonomy for local governments.
He also criticized the ADA’s argument that the South would have governed longer than the North by 2027. He called the claim a “conviction bias,” stating that historically, the North has led the country for a longer period since independence.
“The rotational presidency was introduced in 1999 to balance this disparity and promote unity. Any narrative suggesting otherwise is misleading,” he concluded.
