Speaking on Wednesday via his official platform, Abbas, an APC member representing Zaria Federal Constituency, emphasized the significance of the newly enacted commission in addressing regional challenges, particularly unemployment.
“I commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for signing the North West Development Commission Bill into law. His actions demonstrate unwavering patriotism,” Abbas stated. He underscored that the commission’s establishment will not only foster development within the North West geopolitical zone but also mitigate various socio-economic difficulties, including unemployment.
Abbas further extended congratulations to the people of the North West and all Nigerians, celebrating what he termed a historic milestone.
Earlier reports from Naija News confirmed President Tinubu’s signing of both the North West Development Commission and South East Development Commission bills into law on the same day. The latter bill was sponsored by House of Representatives Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, while Senate Deputy President Jibrin Barau sponsored the former.
