Speaking in an interview on Channels Television on Tuesday, Eno—who recently joined the All Progressives Congress (APC)—stressed that only individuals with no prior role in government have the moral standing to condemn Tinubu. He argued that some people would still find faults even if “an angel” governed Nigeria, describing much of the criticism as politically motivated. “Most of these critics have been in government before. My question is: what impact did they make? If you’ve been in power and failed to deliver, you share in the responsibility for Nigeria’s current state,” Eno stated. He further questioned the sincerity of past leaders, citing the subsidy scam as an example and urging Nigerians to read the book authored by a former EFCC chairman detailing the corruption surrounding it.
