Tinubu’s Ministerial Screening Postponed By Senate Due To Unspecified ReasonsThe Senate has postponed the screening of new ministers nominated by President Bola Tinubu. Basheer Lado, the Special Adviser to President Tinubu on National Assembly matters, confirmed the postponement in a statement. The new date for the screening is set for Wednesday, October 30, at 12 PM.

The statement noted: “The scheduled screening of ministerial nominees has been postponed to enable all nominees to complete their documentation and pre-screening exercises. The screening will now take place on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at 12 noon. We appreciate your understanding and patience.”

Naija News recalls that President Tinubu had previously requested the Senate’s screening and confirmation of seven ministerial nominees, a request conveyed to Senate President Godswill Akpabio during last Thursday’s plenary session. The nominees include Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda (Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction), Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi (Minister of Labour and Employment), Bianca Odinaka Odumegwu-Ojukwu (Minister of State for Foreign Affairs), Dr. Jumoke Oduwole (Minister of Industry, Trade, and Development), Idi Maiha (Minister of Livestock Development), Yusuf Abdullahi Ata (Minister of State for Housing), and Dr. Suwaiba Ahmad (Minister of State for Education).
