On Monday, President Bola Tinubu paid a visit to former military Head of State, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (IBB) in Minna. The President, accompanied by his host, Governor Umaru Bago of Niger State, made the visit as part of his official activities in Niger, where he was inaugurating various projects executed by the Bago administration.
As reported earlier by Naija News, Tinubu’s presence in Niger was associated with the inauguration of projects under the Bago administration. A photo capturing the visit has been shared, showcasing the significance of the meeting between the two political figures.
In a separate development, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has urgently appealed to President Bola Tinubu to reconsider reopening the country’s borders, emphasizing the need to import food items to address the widespread hunger and starvation affecting Nigerian citizens. Governor Yusuf expressed concern over the escalating prices of essential goods, leading to severe hardship for the populace.
The governor conveyed his plea through a statement released by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa. The statement outlined the Governor’s stance on taking swift measures to make food more accessible and affordable for the large population. Governor Yusuf’s call for the reopening of borders was underscored after a meeting with the Controller General of the Nigerian Customs Service, Alhaji Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, at the Government House in Kano.
